Middle School Spanish 1 presents the basics of the Spanish language as spoken in different Spanish
speaking countries.
Students will learn basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical structures.  They will also expand their
horizons through the cultural-historical highlights and the teacher’s personal cultural notes.  Students will
develop a beginning reading and conversational ability.
Listening, reading, writing and speaking skills will be developed throughout the course.
NOTE: A Middle School Spanish 2 will be offered in 2009.

•        Helpful Spanish Phrases
•        Days of the Week & Months of the Year (dates)
•        Numbers 1-100
•        Class Objects
•        Likes and Dislikes
•        Definite & Indefinite Articles
•        Family
•        Articles, Nouns and Adjectives
•        Possessive Adjectives
•        Subject Pronouns
•        Verb to Be: Ser/Estar
•        Verbs -ar

Monthly Tuition: $55 per student.  A onetime fee of $15 (for copies & materials) will be required before
classes begin. *

Material Needed: McDougal Littell ¡En español! 1a.   Students will also need a notebook, a
Spanish/English Dictionary, a 3 ring binder with 3 dividers/tabs, pen/pencil, a marker, and small white cards
to do flashcards.

*It is highly recommended that students attend the Spanish Summer Camp.  A flyer will be posted with all the
details.
