Survey of Art History (Full year)
This yearlong course is an introduction to western art history focusing mainly on European art
produced the ancient period. It will provide an overview of canonical works of art as well as an
understanding of the philosophical & theological ideas which have shaped art history. The course will
develop skills in analysis of works of art and the ability to appreciate both conventional and modern art
forms.
Semester One will cover the art produced from the early Greek & Roman cultures to the Renaissance.
*Field trip: The High Museum's "Leonardo da Vinci and the Art of Sculpture: Inspiration and Invention."
Semester Two will pick up with the Renaissance, and proceed to Modern and, time permitting,
Post-modern art.

The cost of the course is $76 per month for nine months plus a $50 registration fee.

Dunwoody Classes

Family Membership Fee
The membership fee for Dunwoody Classes for 2009-2010 will be $75 per semester for one student or
$100 per semester for families with multiple students. The membership fee includes the facility fee and
unlimited choices of classes. Teacher registration and tuition are made payable separately to the
individual teachers. The membership fee is made payable to Becky Humphrey and must be paid before
or by the first day of class. This one membership fee and the teacher fees are the only fees that will be
assessed.
