This class will cover the basics of Speech and Drama from (staging, voice (how to use your voice thru speech),
body movement (how to present yourself in front of an audience) and oral interpation the ability to dialogue
literature thru speeches written as well as stories read. Speech/Drama class will help and equip these students
with the ability to share the Gospel with confidence and conviction.
They will learn the art to critique themselves as well as others. This way they will learn the total art of
Communication thru Speech/Drama. Through different fun assignments from doing Speeches on story books
to acting out skits they will be able to learn how to take the initiative and make others fill comfortable and
connected. The goal is to move outside your comfort zone and initiate contact with others. To witness for Jesus
we must learn to connect with others around us (Acts 22:15).
I believe that Speech/Drama is not to prepare these students to be performers on the stage as much as to
prepare these kids to stand up with confidence when sharing their beliefs. They will learn how to be heard (thru
voice techniques) as well as understood. Jesus and His disciples stood before the world sharing Gods plan of
salvation to some of the toughest audiences but they had confidence and a presence all their own. I pray these
students will learn to do the same.
