Course Description:  The purpose of the Advanced Placement Psychology course is to introduce students
to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other
animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles and phenomena associated with
each of the major subfields within psychology. They will also learn about the methods psychologists use
in their science and practice. Topics of study will include, but are not limited to, biological basis of
behavior, lifespan development, states of consciousness, memory, sensation and perception,
intelligence, motivation and emotion, personality, treatment of psychological disorders, abnormal
psychology and social psychology. AP Psychology is equivalent to an introductory college survey course.
Students will have the option of taking the AP Exam in the Spring to try to earn college credit for the
course.

Students will be required to purchase their own textbook (Psychology – Eighth Edition by David G. Myers)

Tuition:  $70 per month per student
Registration Fee: $25
Materials Fee: $35 (this is a onetime fee for copies and materials)
Dunwoody Classes
2009-2010
Family Membership Fee

The membership fee for Dunwoody Classes for 2009-2010 will be $75 per semester for one student and
$100 per semester for families with multiple students. The membership fee includes the facility fee and
unlimited choices of classes for all students within the family. Teacher registration and tuition are made
payable separately to the individual teachers. The membership fee is made payable to Becky Humphrey
and must be paid before or by the first day of class. This one membership fee and the teacher fees are
the only fees that will be assessed
