Course Description:  The purpose of the Advanced
Placement Psychology course is to introduce students
to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior
and mental processes of human beings and other
animals. Students are exposed to the psychological
facts, principles and phenomena associated with each
of the major subfields within psychology. They will also
learn about the methods psychologists use in their
science and practice. Topics of study will include, but
are not limited to, biological basis of behavior, lifespan
development, states of consciousness, memory,
sensation and perception, intelligence, motivation and
emotion, personality, treatment of psychological
disorders, abnormal psychology and social psychology.
AP Psychology is equivalent to an introductory college
survey course. Students will have the option of taking
the AP Exam in the Spring to try to earn college credit
for the course.

Students will be required to purchase their own
textbook (Psychology – Eighth Edition by David G.
Myers)

Tuition:  $70 per month per student
Registration Fee: $25
Materials Fee: $35 (this is a onetime fee for copies and
materials)
Dunwoody Classes

Family Fees

The membership fee for Dunwoody Classes for 2010-2011
will be
$40 per semester for one student or $60 per
semester for multiple students enrolled, which
includes unlimited class choices
. The membership fee is
made payable to Becky Humphrey and must be paid before
or by the first day of class.

The facility fee for each family this year is $40 for the entire
school year.
A separate check needs to be made out to
North Peachtree Baptist Church in the amount of $40
and sent or delivered to Becky Humphrey on or before the
first day of classes.

Teacher registration and tuition are made payable separately
to the individual teachers.
